This is a Mapplethorpe polaroid of Marianne Faithfull in the 1970's when she had "issues' with substances- I love the way she is teetering on the bannister, the dark abyss behind her..... It also reminds me of some of the compositions Francis bacon used in the same period of arms opening doors and hovering in between spaces....
